Will the kids feel like they’re missing out on summer, or is it basically a breeze?

How many hours per day should kid dedicate to this?

It's not no comittment but not horrible. Mine did HPE 9, and 10 online.

It's about an hour of class (with camera on) and you have to participate. 1 hour of physical activity (you'll need a fitbit or something to keep HR at certain levels for certain times), and 30-60 min. of HW. In 10, you'll also have driver's ed, with some additional requirements.

Class lasts about 4 weeks and if you're on vacation and do it, it's a pain to get up early for class and to work out when you'd rather sit on the beach. But, it is what it is. And worth it for kids who hate PE or want to clear electives.

Was this ACE? The website doesn’t have any info on PE and how to sign up.

You can't sign up until they pick their classes for the upcoming year. So winter/spring. And, this is PP, we did it through FCPS not ACE.

I heard you need to sign up before they register for their other classes?

no that's not correct. you can pick classes, then sign up when it is available on ACE. and the ACE one IS the FCPS one. Virtual Virginia is NOT FCPS and goes for 6 weeks but is asynchronous.

You need to have approval from their counselor first before you sign up, otherwise the counselor will sign the kid up for PE because they don’t know not to.

We just did it when she signed up for her other classes (through FCPS whenever the link opened up). You register for it separately however. Make sure counselor knows NOT to put you down for it for the fall.
