Pyle—Honest Feedback from Actual Pyle Parents

the only thing about waiting to move in 9th is that pyle is the only feeder to whitman, so your son will still be coming in as a "new" kid save for some coming in from privates.

And, it's not all on MCPS: local parents didn't want to split the school, in fear that another school would not be as "good" as Pyle.

And parents screamed bloody murder so none would be moved out of Pyle.

And Pyle doesn't even offer Algebra II in-house!

I think having him transition in 8th grade rather than 9th makes sense based on what the OP stated, that her son hates his current school and doesn't have friends.

It gives him a chance to make a few new ones before he's thrown into the bigger mixing bowl at 9th grade. And at least he won't have two adjustments to make simultaneously: Adjusting to public school and high school at the same time.

Yes, the fake list and the other thread was bogus.

It's a terrible school. The teachers are lazy and depend on the parents to do outside work to supplement. The principal is a nice guy but the administrators, especially the new one, are incompetent and biased. That one is hated by parents and they are hoping she will leave at the end of this year and go some place far away. Some kids are very kind and welcoming while others are insecure, have a myopic world view, and are simply mean.

Yes, my child says the newer one (white female) is constantly yelling at kids in the halls and is biased. She says teachers see it too. The principal shouldn’t take advice from her and should supervise her more closely.

This. Bypass middle school. Pyle is the weak link in the pyramid. A lot of it is the teaching there and the management. Kid are ok but it's a large public with not a lot of diversity so it can be an unpleasant place to be for some kids. If your child isn't having a great time in K8 you'll find the same types of kids at Pyle and in middle school there's a lot of immaturity like all middle schools. I can't imagine why you think it would be better. It would just be new crappy kids and and more of them.

+1
She has really created a negative environment at the school.

Funny, I find the boys behavior towards each other as well as body shaming the girls and treating them like garbage the main issue

The girls issues are usually 6/7th and the boys are always 7/8th

She has damaged teachers' morale as well. It's bad.

PP you're quoting - yes, I agree.

Are the school enrollment numbers almost identical per grade? That is awful
