I have read that Albufeira, which is in the Algarve, is trashy, but this is the first time I've read the term applied to Lagos. We'll be there in early July, guess we'll see. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g189112-d671971-r499755356-Centro_Historico_de_Albufeira-Albufeira_Faro_District_Algarve.html |
This was not our experience in Lagos. Granted we were at, literally, a week before "high season." Still, a lot of people, though. And we had our child with us. We enjoyed it. |
Agreed. What a dumba$$. It's nothing like Cancun. |
What is considered "high season?" We'll be there (Lagos) July 2-6. |
| Reviving this. Does anyone know about Farragudo? It's a small finishing village near Portimao? Any other recommendations? Flying into Faro and looking for a nice place (not overrun with tourists) to stay. |
| It's beautiful. Would even move there |
Farragudo specifically? |
We are going to pine cliffs. Any recommendations? |

| NP. Anyone been to Porches? We will be there in a couple weeks, hopefully before the peak season starts. |
| I went to the Algarve twice in the mid-90s. It was lovely. I wouldn't go near the place now. Nor Cancun. |
We stayed at a super chill part of Algarve that was beautiful and did not have any Cancun vibes. Rented an air Bnb outside of Ferragudo |
We stayed outside farragudo. It was beautiful and very relaxed. I think the beach we went to was Caneiros. |
Well it is in Europe, and is a tourist destination. |
