How long do I need to drive to charge my car battery after a jump start?

I have looked online and gotten answers from 30 minutes to 10 hours on the freeway. Anyone have any IRL experience with this?

30 minutes is the standard advice. However, depending upon the car brand, year, and model, you may have to get a trickle charger and attach to your car battery each night (or whenever not in use). Many cars constantly drain/use the battery even when parked in one's garage. Accordingly, your choice is to either get a trickle charger or to buy a new replacement battery.

or you battery just was not able to take a charge and it needed to be replaced. or something else is going on in your cars electrical system.
