I let my car sit for a while and now I have a dead battery. Once I get the car jump started, how long do I have to drive around for to get the battery charged back up? I have looked online and gotten answers from 30 minutes to 10 hours on the freeway. Anyone have any IRL experience with this?
30 minutes is the standard advice. However, depending upon the car brand, year, and model, you may have to get a trickle charger and attach to your car battery each night (or whenever not in use). Many cars constantly drain/use the battery even when parked in one's garage. Accordingly, your choice is to either get a trickle charger or to buy a new replacement battery.
