Yet their governor signed a draconian abortion law into effect. I’m glad the DNC isn’t holding a convention in a backwards-ass, fascist state like Georgia. I feel sorry for Southern Dems, but states that oppress women are a no-go. |
It was no lie. Do better. |
IKR... You can always tell the MAGA DCUM visitors who barely ever set foot outside of their little red county (or, for that matter, their mom's basement) when they post hyperbolic commentary about how Chicago or NYC or DC or Portland et cetera are supposedly hellscape warzones of burned down and boarded up buildings crawling with gangbangers and antifa and drag queen groomers.

BS. Biden should be calling his home state's laws "Jim Crow 2.0."

Its not that exaggerated though for Chicago: https://cwbchicago.com/2023/04/video-chicago-large-group-woman-attacked-cta-bus-driver-punched.html |
This. Chicago is also a union town. |
These are excellent recommendations. The DNC gives Detroit (my hometown) lip service. Baltimore and Detroit are a lot a like and could use the boost from the DNC. Next down the list should be Portland, OR even though it’s in a west coast state. Having it any of those cities would show some support for the everyday person. Chicago, while it has its challenges, may as well NYC but at least it isn’t in a coastal state. |
While I agree that there is a lot of hyperbole about what’s going on in several major cities, using basement dweller as an insult isnt going to fly considering Biden successfully campaigned out of his in the last election. Do better. |

Having been to Chicago four times in the last year or so, I think it's a great choice. It's a fun city with easy transportation, and there are a ton of options for union hotels, restaurants, etc.
Considering the actual location of the convention won't change a single vote, having it somewhere where you can live out your values and also have easy logistics makes perfect sense. |
That's just plain stupid. Come up with better talking points than "basement Biden." And remember, he DID win the election, regardless of how he campaigned. |
| Where the convention is held has no impact on how people vote. They might as well make it accessible for everyone. |
I guess you think all is fine in those 3 cities. Glad you do. |
| Chicago represents the Midwest and the RNC already announced they're doing their convention in Milwaukee. The DNC can't appear to just be giving up on the Midwest. |
| Chicago is a vibrant, diverse city. That’s why the racists hate us. |
