do you always bathe your child after having put bug spray on them?

At all! I'm one of these people that gets eaten alive in the summer, and as much as I wanted to like Burt's Bee's, it just didn't work for us. I remember putting some on, walking outside, and within ten minutes I had a mosquito on my leg. So while I'd love to use the natural varieties, we didn't go with them this summer.

When I was pregnant, I used Skin-so-Soft--it's an Avon product, originally a bath oil I think, that also happens to repel insects. That being said, it has a strong scent, so your kid will smell like that every other day.

I think sunscreen could potentially clog pores and cause skin irritation. That's all. But really - by the time the kids are done playing, they've sweated most of it off.

Did you use the original SSS or the Bug Guard version?

Try the Repel. My DH is a mosquito magnet and it works for him.
