One gift I used every day in college was a big fleece bathrobe my aunt gave me. I didn't think I needed one but was so glad to not be walking down the hallway the first week in just a towel like so many of my dorm mates.

Monogrammed bathrobe. Terry cloth was better than fleece for walking back from the showers. Also flip flops or slides.

I do a personalized stadium blanket in their school colors with their monogram and “SchoolName ##” (year of graduation).
