HS Girl Graduation Gift Ideas, Please!

Prefer not to do money or jewelry. What did your high school grad DD particularly like or appreciate receiving as a graduation gift?

I still have a throw blanket I received as a graduation gift. It was meant for my dorm room in college but I've kept it and still use it to this day.

My go-to grad gift is the biggest LL Bean Boat Tote, monogrammed and in their school colors (if available). So convenient for carrying/storing books, laundry, etc. and lasts forever. In a similar vein, a nice piece of luggage would be thoughtful and practical.

I liked and appreciated money, because it’s what I needed at the time. My parents helped me with college tuition and that was the present. I don’t remember a single gift by any other relative so I’m assuming it’s things I picked out for the dorm or money.

set of monogrammed towels (Lands End is great for this) - works for both boys and girls (or I guess at this point men/women)

This is what I do. A lot of times, you can also purchase text books at the campus store so depending on how big the gift card is, they can get swag and practical stuff like books.

A MacBook, tuition, outfitting their dorm room, beach vacation (yeah I know, don’t care)

A nice necklace, bracelet, or set of earrings is always appreciated.

For your DDs friends (ie this is not an expensive gift)- a sick day box. Kids go off and they need a thermometer, cough drops, soothing tea, advil, Benadryl, tylonol, etc. put in a cute container.

My go to: fold over personalized or monogrammed cards in the HS or college colors.

I am sending my kid with all those things in a first aid box. Along with LOTS of other stuff (bacitracin, ice packs, band aids, etc., etc.).

College kids don't want monogrammed towels or note cards they will never use (except hopefully one as a thank you to the giver).

They want cash. If you don't want to give that, GC to restaurants on/near campus (Chipotle, Starbucks or Dunkin if in New England, Chick-fil-A, etc), or to a campus store where they can buy whatever swag they choose
