Why is the overall experience generally better at Northeastern? I understand that the comp sci or the quality of student may be better. |
| I’d probably choose gw bc Oakland for a year doesn’t appeal but if your teen doesn’t mind then Northeastern. |
This is more of a subjective area. However objectively speaking based on Retention Rate and Graduation Rate, I must conclude Northeastern is better because better the overall experience, more the students choose to stay and graduate. |

| Big question: Is your kid looking to get out of the DMV or would they be OK going to school in DC? |
| Brandeis. Speaking as a college professor, their holistic approach to students is far better than Northeastern or GW. |
| I vote Brandeis. Gets a great education in a setting he would be comfortable with and he’s near Boston. I would pass on Northeastern - hard pass on Oakland for a year. They seem a bit of a mess right now and they didn’t want your kid enough to give them Boston. Cut them loose. GW is fine, but I’m guessing kid wants to spread his wings based on the NEU and Brandeis applications. Best of luck! |
That is actually exactly NOT how it works. If OP actually had an Oakland offer, OP would not be asking here. There are closed groups that verify new members and reveal current members, so OP must be having a hard time. If you actually have an account/offer, you would ask questions in the closed groups, OP - not DCUM. |
What closed groups are you talking about? |
If you know, you know. |
| All of these Northeastern posts appear fake since the OP never responds properly and there is random boosting. Just ignore. |
Why does OP have to troll the schools he wasn’t admitted to? Grow up, already. |
I would certainly trust more of the actions of the students(retention & graduation rates) over a vague words(holistic approach?) from a professor. |
I’m the OP and I would not post this with my child’s name on a different forum! Are you talking about parent Facebook groups? I don’t do that. |
Op- this is not fake. Why are you trolling my post? I want advice! They admitted 2k kids to Oakland- mine is one of them! |
