| Any update, OP? |

Not OP but have a 3rd round final interview on Monday. It's not my first choice job but 1st and 2nd choice haven't gotten back to me - I know, I know, it's spring break for families and I'm trying to be patient.
I really don't want that job on Monday - it's a backup and I'm hoping to use it as leverage to get 1st and 2nd moving on their decision. |
| I'm an earlier poster and I just heard yesterday that I did *not* get the job after 5 interviews. Oh well. This morning received another call from a recruiter. It all keeps going. |
I had a hiring situation like this. It was for an internship, but a pretty selective one with good pay. We had a first choice, but their references took forever (red flag), they took a long time to respond to emails, and they eventually bailed out. Candidate #2 politely followed up with me every two weeks, and I was stuck making excuses, but when candidate #1 dropped out I hired him so fast and he was a great hire. His persistence paid off. |
This rarely works and could force a "no" because they are not ready to render a decision but feel like they have to tell you something. |
OP here-- same, finally got word I was choice number 2. I was not too surprised once I heard officially, but it's good to have closure. I'm sure it'll work out soon. |
| They are negotiating with their first choice. It is bad form for them not to be in communication with you for 2 weeks. They should have said, we're still getting through final interviews and we'll be in touch once we make a final decision. |
| I know this is an old thread but I'm in a similar spot now. 2+ weeks after the interview and have not heard back. Should I assume I didn't get it? |

I had 9 interviews at Bear Stearns in 2005. Last one a lunch meeting at a fancy restaurant. They said they get back right away. Still waiting.
I have been ghosted after doing multiple interview several times. Just like candidates ghost. |
