He has done a good job so far, being proactive with the residents of Ward 3 and listening to concerns, staff has been responsive.

In his TEN page request letter not only did he not ask for more police officers, the word “crime” is mentioned exactly zero times. My neighbor who recently had his car stolen from outside his house read that letter with great interest Specific enough?

That is your suggestion? Just mentioning “crime”? A very low bar you set. And do you really believe that the Council is constraining the hiring of MPD officers? Do you believe that MPD doesn’t have any vacancies? Have you not seen the bonuses they are offering? If you are really concerned about the MPD shortfall, maybe you could consider signing up to help solve the problem.

DC would have enough officers and wouldn’t have to offer hiring bonuses of Frumin and the DC Democrats didn’t spend two years insulting the profession directly and with veiled code about “reimagining” and “changing relationships.” Now we ALL suffer in the name of equity instead of embracing the only proven solution for crime for thousands of years.
