What is the current IN sneaker for middle school boys?

Why don't you ask your son what he would like? If your DS doesn't know or care about what sneakers are in with the popular kids then they probably don't hang around with a group of kids who would judge him on what sneakers he likes.

It may depend on the school. Some boys do wear the crazy expensive ones but otherwise it’s Nike, adidas, us, vans and a few other brands. Mine like adidas as it fits best. At that age they outgrow them quickly.

We do 1 basic pair (new balance 574) 1 fun pair (usually Air Force 1 in the bolder colors) and a Nike running/athletic shoe. I try to get those ones on sale. He wears the Trout cleats. In our area Nike seems to be the most popular

90% of the boys in my son’s high school wear white sneakers. Different brands (lots of adidas) but primarily white. Well, they only stay white for a day but they don’t seem to care.

My kid wears Vans every day. Some of his friends wear Vans, some Converse, and some wear more of a “fashion” type sneaker. But low profile and “chill” are this group’s main vibe.

Air Force 1s (in solid white) are a safe bet. Air Jordans are popular but you can get those at the Nike outlets too. Zappos doesn't carry a lot of Nike anymore, but Dick's has really stepped up its shoe game and has a more traditional shoe section (vs grab and go everything off the rack).

I have one kid who always wants to stand out and one that is very self-conscious (and prone to being bullied) so I get that sometimes, you really just need to know what the cool kids wear.
