Strange email from administration in FCCPS

The email that went out specifically said the report was from a Middle School Student. Maybe you need to read your email more closely.

I'm quite sure admin fully expected students to tell their parents and parents to converse with each other until everybody in the little city knew the details. If that didn't happen how can you reasonably expect admin to take responsibility for it? They are engrossed in dancing on the fine line between open and transparent communication and not admitting that stuff like that happens here, it's grueling!

Well my kid didn’t know and neither did the parents I asked. So why don’t you fill us in.

I would if I knew but I have no idea. I am well versed in how things work in FCC though, just no longer in that loop. If it's a fight between middle schoolers I'd say just be grateful it's not a teacher getting arrested for fooling around with the kids. None of this is exclusive to FCC by the way.

Rumors around the MS are that it's a sexual situation between two kids, but very unclear on whether or not it was consensual or not. Which is kind of a big deal. If it's not - if it's assault - parents DO deserve the right to know.

Actually you will never convince any admin of any school district that parents in general have the right to know about a sexual situation between kids unless one of them was yours and even then they'll protect the privacy of the other kid.
