Nice, where did they end up? Sounds like H or P material

They basically pick 150 of the best all-around students in the country, similar to what USA Today used to do with All-Academic Teams in the country. This year there were 91,000+ applicants to get the final 150 winners - an acceptance rate of 0.15%.

The year my son competed they picked almost exclusively students of color.

I doubt this - Coke is known for making scholarship and hiring decisions independent of socioeconomic or racial characteristics

I scrolled through the list and one high school in New Orleans had two winners!

Applications are open to everyone, it's obviously extremely competitive though so if you're a middling student without any hooks there's basically 0 chance

Couldn't be the perfect stats or even that he was filthy rich. Had to his 1/2 Mexican part? Ok.

A school in Florida had 3 winners! It's one of the top private schools in the country though

There was a finalist (top 250) from BCC but didn't end up in the final 150 winners, great guy I've heard.

Only if you’re looking for a fight, I guess? The point is that ALL the kids had perfect stats and they have to have some way to stand out. Diversity is one way to stand out. And I think being filthy rich would not help in a scholarship competition though it surely helps in many others ways.

You clearly are unaware of the school that the DC winner came from.
And I am not going to spend the time to fill you in.
