| You'll only get fired if you make mistakes like these multiple times. I'm assuming this is the first time you messed up? Don't worry. |
Way over the top. Lord, do not solicit "feedback". They didn't seem terribly upset, so unless there's more just move forward.
|
| I mean, it didn't sound like he was particularly upset. More of an FYI situation. |
| This is why assistant jobs suck. Screwups are inevitable, as is dealing with terrible bosses. Try to go back to school and get in a better track. |
+1. Mistakes happen. It's irritating, but it happens. He's in the right city and he can get a hotel. It could be way worse. Just apologize when he gets back. Literally every assistant has had this happen. |
Well no sh*t OP, you aren't getting better because you haven't been taking the time off you need to get well. |
|
OP, I'm an assistant as well and I did something similar about 8 months ago. For 2 weeks I was on pins & needles, just waiting to get fired!
Three weeks, then four weeks had gone by and I still had my job! Anyway, after about 4 months after the first incident, my opportunity came up again and I joked with my boss that it would be a better experience. He had no idea what I was talking about... apparently I had made more out of it than my boss I do more checking on myself since then. |
+1 He sounded very nice about it. I know many bosses who would be on the phone yelling at their assistants over this. |
He's 100% not happy. He was being nice about it. Trust me. You're not getting fired OP but don't make the same mistake twice. |
| Since London is an overnight flight and he probably arrived very early could you have booked it for the day of arrival and not for an early check in? It was it legitimately for the following day? |
