Beautiful dress. I feel it may be too casual for black tie optional. |

Okay, thank you all! It's linen so obviously not super formal, although I do believe it's a bit much for brunch at the club haha.
Dress is old Agua Bendita for the person who asked. I think I'll save it for a more casual wedding later in the summer. And if anyone knows anything about the scene in Alexandria, LA and has a suggestion I'd love to see it! |
| I think it would be perfect for an outside afternoon wedding but not evening black tie. |
| Lovely dress! I can say with total confidence that it would not be appropriate for a black tie wedding in DC or NYC or similar. Sometimes these things are regional, though...does black tie attire look different in Louisiana? More colors and patterns? I really don't know. |

I haven’t been to weddings in Alexandria, but I have in other not-too-far-away cities/towns, and I agree that the dress, while lovely, is too casual.
I’d expect a black-tie-optional wedding in Alexandria to look a lot like one in DC, though probably with less black on the women. Younger women there won’t balk at wearing a black dress any longer, but their mothers might, especially in the spring/summer. |
| I need this dress. It’s gorgeous. |
Omg $798 on Poshmark! I’m too cheap for that. |
| I love it. |
| This would be great for a summer daytime wedding, but absolutely not for black tie optional. |
| Too casual |
| Beautiful |
| Oh no definitely not for black tie optional for Louisiana! The ladies there will go all out. |
Yes, I would assume most would go super fancy in Louisiana. |
| Gorgeous dress, and I think it's fine, as the event is black tie OPTIONAL, not black tie |
| I hate this, it is too cutesy, looks like something a preteen would wear, but answering the question you did ask, not too much white, no, but not at all appropriate for a black tie optional wedding. |
