Did you hand it to the agent with the cover on it? I would probably get pissed too.

X2. You’re supposed to take your passport out prior to handing it over. I use the cover to keep my travel documents all together.
Here’s mine from Montblanc:

Thanks! I like this!

Yes, I think they will, if I get them each the right combo of style and function.

I would just get them something off their registry.
Anonymous
Just no. Get them something they actually want. No one wants this for their wedding.

Great idea. I have an expandable “passport wallet” at home that holds my & kids’ passports, global ID & social security cards. I like having these important documents together in one ‘wallet”. We travel internationally 2x per year and it’s very useful.

Agreed, this would have no use for me. I really wouldn't want someone spending good money on something like this for me if I could avoid it. OP I would try and somehow confirm they would like it and use it.

Whoops, sorry, missed your reply. I still might shade towards something on the registry. Less risk.

Same

Seems unnecessary. Really for the people who have everything. I guess.

I would not use this when traveling solo but definitely see the utility in something like this when traveling with my DH and kids. In fact, I might get one!

I guess PP are saying it’s a good gift. I wouldn’t use it for several reasons

The Newer Passports are more sturdy so don’t need protecting.

I personally don’t keep all my docs together. We have a passport case on a lanyard that my DH wears when we travel as a family. Our cards and cash are all kept separately.

I don’t carry a wallet or purse. The one posted looks heavy and cumbersome.

Traveling internationally, i wouldn’t want anything flashy that screams “I have expensive things”.

$280 for... a black piece of material to cover my passport, and it only holds two credit cards.
I clearly run in different circles than the OP.

Hey now, some of us have a ziploc bag to store our passports.

Why not just give them cash? I don't do gifts any more and haven't for years. I would really hate a gift like that, it would never get used but I would feel bad throwing it out. If you must, include a note with the check with a link to a passport cover and say 'I was thinking of getting you this but wasn't sure you would use it.'

We received personalized passport covers.

They are still in the closet because I can't regift them.
