Passport Covers for Wedding Gift

Anonymous
I’m planning to get passport covers or wallets for my cousin and his husband for their wedding gifts.

They travel frequently and would appreciate something with both functionality and style. Not worried about price.

Recommendations are welcome!

Is this something they want and would use? Esp at a high price point?

I received one and it was more of a pain to take my passport out of something when I traveled a lot. Easier for it to be free to be scanned etc.

It's a nice gesture.

When we travel we use a passport wallet that fits all of our passports (1 child, so 3), all of our global entry cards, all of our nexus cards, all of our priority pass cards, and a few credit cards. Also boarding passes.

Not sure if they have a lot of documents but we find it much easier to put them all together when we travel as a couple or family. We wouldn't use a cover, but would appreciate the thought!

Send a link to a passport cover. I'm not even sure what this is and I travel a lot for work and pleasure.

I got my husband a nice monogrammed leather one on etsy. I got mine from Nordstrom it is 'designer'. I like that both are kind of large and have slots for cards/cash. Mine is just a flap style, his zips around for additional security.

Yes!!! Basic styling and leather. Easy to remove passport.

I used to use a passport cover. It really pisses off the customs agents. Imagine having to take off 100's of times each day. Unless they are asking for this gift, I would skip this one.

Use a money belt that also holds passports. Around my waist, easy for me to get in and out, but not going to get robbed!

A passport cover? For someone that travels a lot? Chances are they already have what they need for travel

Did you hand it to the agent with the cover on it? I would probably get pissed too.

X2. You’re supposed to take your passport out prior to handing it over. I use the cover to keep my travel documents all together.
Here’s mine from Montblanc:

If there is truly no budget, I’d recommend ones from Louis Vuitton, or Montblanc for a less flashy look. Longchamp also have understated ones at good price points too, especially if you’re close to an outlet.

Op here. Idea is to buy them something special and functional No budget. I travel a lot myself but between my clutches and other small bags, I’ve not needed a passport cover or wallet, but I’ve certainly thought about it when I see how nicely they can help organize.

I’ve looked online at several brands including Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Prada, and everything on these lists from British GQ and WSJ:

No snark, will they use it? I travel a LOT and would never use one of those.
