This is what happens when you hire from MCPS

Sure - that’s a classic MCPS move. Listen Maryland has spent a small fortune on its schools for really mediocre results (hence the Blueprint for Maryland - 4 billion more down the same drain until they get to 10 billion)

Stop hiring insiders from MCPS. Even bloated Fairfax broadened their search.

They reported graduation rates for 2022.

No way - after a global pandemic and absolutely zero special ed services for 1.5 years - are special Ed kids graduating at a higher rate. Impossible.

Yet magically after hiring an MCPS minion as a Superintendent this happens! In one miraculous year! And the achievement gap between AA students and everyone else has ended. Praise be!

I call b.s. or MCPS. Too bad. Could have had a real leader

Those rates are for the Class of 2022. Dyson started July 1, 2022, right after that class left. Besides, contrary to what people on this thread think, faking data is extremely rare in education.

Admins from mcps really know how to break the spirits of teachers to artificially inflate the numbers and under report the behavior. It looks good on paper but my guess is the truth is both are declining in performance while number reports sky rocket. The following year behavior will be worse and base levels will be bad bc they are training kids to cheat or do the bare minimum all while acting like animal house to get automatic A for just showing up.

I’m not sure you can blame MCPS. But I will say that my friend’s child has been passed along from K through 9th without doing any work at all. No homework or projects. Refusing to take tests. He is combative when challenged so they don’t force it. Even worse, he earned better grades last semester than my child who works his butt off in MCPS. FCPS has been this way for a very long time.

I should clarify, friend’s son is spec ed in Frederick County with no LD but severe behavioral issues.

Shhh! You're saying the dirty part out loud, soon you will be called a racist. The parents that support this non sense wanted their kids to be competitive with the very same peers they are now dumbing down. So, are you dumbing down your own kid so he can be as dumb as the others so your will look better and smarter? Lol. It's too funny, but so unbelievably sad what has happened to the public school system, equality for all, even if we have to lie to say you are equal.

I actually think many kids with SN’s who do well in school but have social issues excelled during COVID.
