This is what happens when you hire from MCPS

…the numbers get doctored. Exhibit A: Frederick County Public schools

They reported graduation rates for 2022.

No way - after a global pandemic and absolutely zero special ed services for 1.5 years - are special Ed kids graduating at a higher rate. Impossible.

Yet magically after hiring an MCPS minion as a Superintendent this happens! In one miraculous year! And the achievement gap between AA students and everyone else has ended. Praise be!

I call b.s. or MCPS. Too bad. Could have had a real leader

Aren’t the kids receiving compensatory services? I have multiple friends who are delighted with the one one one tutoring their children get now. They claim their kids are no longer making up a year of loss, but finally catching up to NT peers.

1. They hired this person to do exactly that.

2. I am glad special ed kids are graduating. They need every help they can get, OP. Do you want your tax-payer dollars to support more indigent people or do you want less-functional adults to get jobs that require high school diplomas so they can keep body and soul together? What's in your long-term best interest here, hmmm?

Most “education” has become a fraud. Let’s face it.

Cynical. My long term interest is starving these ‘public’ schools of their wealth. They are scams.

Good comeback on an anonymous forum but seriously no one from MCPS goes anywhere else and makes the place any better. Goodness. I think that money should go to families - they pick the schools and demand better, that’s all.

You’re obsessed.

Things are good and you’re upset/ suspicious.
What a life you must lead.

FWIW, the new superintendent has ties to Frederick as well. I believe she went to Hood College. Just about every superintendent that has been in FCPS was once at MCPS. MCPS is a huge system. These people move around. It shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Anyone after that last superintendent, who was forced into retirement because of a federal investigation, was bound to do better. The bar was in hades.

Special education kids are graduating at higher rates because they only need to attempt the graduation assessments. They don’t need to pass the exams. The exam requirements were waived during the pandemic and haven’t been re-instated.

Ha! A voucher nut! I called it.

If you want private or religious school, you are welcome to pay for it. Next!

If it is a principal I would guess all of your data will be improved by the negative incidents just won't be reported and the grades will go up due to the grade inflation or retaliation thing they promote.
