What are the best baby gifts you received?

+1000

If the family has limited space (which may be why the small registry) a large gift or something that is not on the registry might be the opposite of useful and not appreciated.

Please buy off the registry (if there are still items available) or give a gift card to Uber eats (like someone else mentioned) or offer babysitting.

Please, please, as a parent of three children, unless specifically asked for, please do not gift people things like baby breeza, expensive rocking chairs, etc etc. Honestly, the best gifts are: gifts off the registry, gift cards to amazon for diapers, we got a diaper subscription once that was nice too and we could pick the diapers, uber/doordash/whatever food delivery. Things you/your baby loved are great for you and your baby. Everyone is different. Let people make their choice. Oh I would say I love those pottery barn personalized blankets

This was what I appreciated most. My work team pooled and sent a few hundred dollars grubhub credit before my second was born and it was sooooooo nice to get takeout whenever we wanted!!

The food. We were another family gifted a chef for a period of time and we had a meal train for 10 weeks. I was on baby 3 so it was an immense help.

Baby Bjorn bouncer Chair
Baby born high chair
Hatch noise machine
Hatch scale changing pad
Nice pajamas (kissy kissy / magneticme)
Moby baby carrier
Car seat (splurge but nice not to buy it)

I hated half these things. Baby products are so personal because different people value different things. For instance I would never want someone to choose a car seat for me. I agree with above suggestions to get a personal chef or Uber Eats so they can get what they really want and need. If you want to do a physical item, definitely pick it off their registry.

Oh or tell them you’ll cover a night or two of night doula. No one got me that because it’s hundreds per night, but it was my favorite thing I had post baby.

A nose Frida ( I’d never heard of it) and a small basket with infant Motrin/infant Tylenol etc in it. Never would have thought to buy them and was so handy to have them when she got a fever. The basket has been used for small boats books and is now on the dresser with other small items in.

My parents and in-laws chipped in for a night nurse.

Babysitting, esp at night. Formula.

Otherwise, I loved my baby carriers. Infantino for the newborn stage and Lillebaby for older

Diapers.

Didn't really need anything else.

Why are people suggesting babysitting? Babies are portable so do folks really need (or want) a friend, like Op, to babysit?

Plus, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable leaving an infant with a friend . My best friend; ok but Op sounds like she's a neighbor or colleague or a loose friend.

YES. Speaking just for myself but YES. And I had an easy, sleepy, portable baby.

I needed space to be myself and relax and sometimes work out.

I loved the Magnetic Me sleepers and never would have spent the money myself.

You could also do a gift card to a higher end baby clothing company (Tea Collection, Hanna Anderson, Boden, Janie & Jack, Little Sleepies, etc.) so they could pick out something cute, but also not at all necessary so they might not want to spend their own money on it.

I didn't get many personalized gifts, and I know some people get lots so ymmv, but I loved the personalized blanket we got and personalized bath towels (especially for my second).

Same. And I only knew I loved them because we got one as a gift. I snagged a few on super sale but would have loved more. Also uber eats/door dash gift cards were awesome.
