What are the best baby gifts you received?

In any price range. My kids are grown, but I'm looking for a thoughtful or useful gift for someone close to me (they have a limited registry).

A private chef that came to my house, cooked a weeks worth of meals (after doing a detailed interview of the kinds of foods my husband and I liked) stocked the fridge/ freezer with the meals, cleaned the kitchen and left.
It was glorious. Nary a casserole in sight.

Some other friends told us to pick a night, came over and babysat the baby so we could go out to dinner. That was lovely as well since we didn't have to schlep the baby and his things anywhere.

I didn't receive what PP shared, but if I would have, that would be my recommendation. It sounds GLORIOUS.

Splurgey baby items (kyte sleep sack, bamboo pajamas (kyte, Little sleepies, etc.), magnetic me baby suits). A lot of new moms don’t want to spend $30+ on a pair of pajamas or $50+ on a sleep sack when you can spend less than half that on other brands, but they’re sooo soft and nice to have for baby, and will certainly get a lot of use!!

Dock a Tot
Baby Bjorn bouncer Chair
Baby born high chair
Hatch noise machine
Hatch scale changing pad
Nice pajamas (kissy kissy / magneticme)
Moby baby carrier
Car seat (splurge but nice not to buy it)

woolino sleep sacks
lovevery subscription
meal delivery gifts (for me not the baby)

bought it myself but so happy with it - doona car-seat stroller (on the other hand did get the doona trike gifted and that is a dud).

Do they have limited space? I had a limited registry for that reason so I wouldn't have appreciated large gifts. But the food/babysitting gifts would have been HEAVEN. You guys have great friends/family.

I bought this and only used it a handful of times. It’s a nice gift but may not be useful.

Things off my registry. I had so very few things bought from my registry that it really made me feel special when someone took the time to look it up. Instead of just sending another lovey or blanket.

A friend I have known since childhood gave me a beautiful pocketbook so I would never forget that I’m still the same girl I was before children and that I don’t need to carry a diaper bag everywhere!

Awesome awesome gift

I give a Sephora gift card for the same reason!

Uber Eats gift card. Seriously.

There are so many things I loved but they mostly don’t make good gifts. Like I lived for our Ollie swaddles but other people would be like WTF. I think it’s good to stick to the registry and Uber eats.
You can pair the Uber eats card with a favorite book or a little toy to make it more personal.
