Am I the only woman not offended by the Tiger Woods tampon incident?

I can assure you non-white men are misogynistic too

Same.

It’s not that “I’m used to it. It’s that it seriously doesn’t bother me, at all

That’s literally the definition of internalized misogyny

Well that makes it very easy and convenient for you to dismiss someone’s opinion. If they don’t agree with you, then they have fallen under the trap of misogyny!

It's open season on women and if you complain you're a karen.

Most men?!
You are the problem.

Tiger Woods is neither one of those things.

But a lot of women seem to get offended by women who aren’t offended by stuff like that.

Being a women there are some things I can’t do as well as a man. And that doesn’t bother me in the least, nor does it bother me if men privately joke around with their friends regarding it.

Came here to say this. It’s ridiculous. Save the offense for the big, important stuff.

I am “offended” in that the joke Tiger was making was that his buddy was a woman, and therefore inferior. The joke is offensive on its face, and was intended to be offensive. In the same way that boys joking with each other “you’re such a girl” or “don’t be a sissy” are being offensive.

But I’m not, like, worked up about it. I would not post of Facebook about it. I see and experience far worse stuff all the time, plus I don’t even like Tiger Woods as a person, don’t care for golf as a sport, and am perfectly capable of telling my kids “don’t behave like that, it’s gross to act like there is something wrong with being a woman— there’s not.”

Posting this post is already longer than I planned to spend thinking about this incident after seeing a headline about it yesterday.

He's an idiot. Only an idiot would even think of something like that. I actually was going to go to a new miniature golf course place that just opened where I live, that I guess he designed, but now I'm like, it's probably stupid like him.

Like what? Now I think the brouhaha over the tampon exchange is silly. But is your comment for real? Like lifting heavy objects or machinery? Well sure, men have the capacity for larger muscle mass. But aside from physical challenges, which is what I assume you’re referring to, there is nothing women can’t do as well as a man, and I think it’s weird if a man made a joke at women’s expense over that. Although it is not worthy of national newsprint or headlines.

The fact that he’s the father of a 15 year old girl makes it so much worse that he did this very publicly, as a celebrity. If you make a stupid, misogynistic joke when you’re 23, single and childless, it’s still a bad look, but Jesus, it’s like he still has no awareness at all at age 47, after a marriage, multiple serious relationships with women, and 15 years of being the father of a daughter. What a prick.

I feel sorry for Tiger Woods’s daughter - and son. He destroyed their family because of his misogyny and clearly his attitudes permeate all aspects of his thinking about women. I’m not surprised given his parents and the dynamic there, he learned it on his papas knee. I hope Elin is doing her best to counteract and teach her son to have some respect for women.

Weird takeaway.

Taking offense at misogyny isn’t being a Karen.

A Karen calls the cops on the black kid’s lemonade stand on the corner.
