Don't be so sure. There was as kid terrorizing synagogues in the area a few years ago. He was an Israeli Jewish teen. Could be anyone. |
| I looked through my son’s text and I was shocked to see several kid’s self photo icons with hitler and nazi imagery. I was dismayed. |
Profile picture- not photo icon. Words failed me. |
| I know some of the details of the social media incident. It wasn’t posted on social media. It was a small group chat. An 11 year old Jewish student sent a photo to a few friends. It was another friend wearing a fake mustache that looked like Hitler. The other stuff sounds terrible, but this is the context of that incident. |
Most disagree. Look at the Woods middle school homophobic club thread. Most are made at the principal for calling the police saying she over reacted. |
They’re required by law to educate them, but send them home to virtual. Make them their parents’ problem. |
Restorative justice is the only thing that works. |
| We need more classes to teach kids to hate hate. |

Which schools?
Are the kids white, black, Latino or Asian? Are we sure the kids are saying anti-Jewish things, or is the rhetoric more anti-minority? I haven’t heard anything about this in my mcps pyramid. Curious which schools are impacted. |
|
It seems like it is Jewish kids rebeling. This is MCPS not West Virginia.
So far everytime they find out who is behind on of these incidents it a Jewish kids goofing off. |
Springtime for Hitler and Germany! |
Sounds like that was the case here. And it doesn’t help when adults draw even more unnecessary attention to this kind of nonsense. |
Why does this always happen at segregated schools? |
People are allowed to make jokes about their own history. It’s not actually a bias incident. It’s a normal way of processing. It’s common in Jewish humor. |
Is this true and what school? |
