If she's sad about missing out on something, we acknowledge it, and then move on. Am I sorry I can't take her to Hawaii? Sure. But there's no use dwelling on it.

Going to Hawaii and finding a way to watch the Super Bowl aren’t even remotely the same things.

+1 go to a restaurant/bar. There are lots that are family friendly and the atmosphere will be fun.

How is he such a fan if he can’t watch the game’s regularly

This is ridiculous. There are tvs everywhere! Heck, even burger king has TVs.

NFL+ is $4.99/month. Cancel it after the game is over.

Tons of restaurants are showing it. Do you go, Op???

You should have made arrangements for your little Chiefs fan to watch the game with friends, an uncle, a cousin, his "big brother", or last resort, you at a restaurant, back when you first found out the Chiefs would be in the Super Bowl. Next time, mom, think ahead. It's all a work in progress.

Okay, we also often can't afford to go to restaurants, or take the train to the zoo, or closer things. In elementary school I kept DD home from school a few times on days she had field trips because I couldn't afford the fees for them. Are those remotely the same things as the superbowl?

Oh, then an HD antenna they should buy for future. So easy to plug into TV set

My leaf antenna plugs into the back of my TV set where cable goes. The big square part goes in the window. It couldn't be any easier.

No idea if it's HD, but who cares?

Do you have a TV? An antenna is very inexpensive.

We didn’t get invited to any parties, and we don’t have cable bc it doesn’t fit in the monthly budget. DS is bummed it’s just him and I, and we cannot even watch the game. And honestly I’m not sure he will get through the whole thing. I’m feeling like a loser mom who can’t even do this simple thing for her kid! Any ideas how we can watch? Maybe get YouTube tv and then cancel?

“Was raised”

Huh?

Do you always mark everything about yourself?

It was free. We also don't have cable TV ($$$) but we have a TV.

DP. I was raised in Indiana. What's wrong with 'was raised'?
