Sad bc cannot afford to watch Super Bowl. Any tips?

It’s just DS (age 8) and me. DS was raised in Kansas City and he’s a big Chiefs fan. We didn’t get invited to any parties, and we don’t have cable bc it doesn’t fit in the monthly budget. DS is bummed it’s just him and I, and we cannot even watch the game. And honestly I’m not sure he will get through the whole thing. I’m feeling like a loser mom who can’t even do this simple thing for her kid! Any ideas how we can watch? Maybe get YouTube tv and then cancel?

You can afford a phone plan and internet?

Go to Green Turtle and watch.

I don't understand. The game is playing at a ton of restaurants and family-friendly bar restaurants. Just go to one of them. If you let me know your general location, I'll give you the name of a restaurant to visit.

I’m streaming it via Sling. They probably have a trial subscription!

Oh go away. Phone and internet are needed things these days. Cable is not. Op I'd get YouTube tv and cancel if that's an option

Other services where you may be able to do a free trial and watch: YouTube TV and Hulu Live (you can watch fox). When my dad was visiting during the world cup, I paid for a month of a steaming service so he could watch.

If you have an actual television, you should have a $20 digital antenna. Super Bowl is always on a network.

Do you have a smart TV? If so, sign up for 1 minth of sling TV. it's $25. When you click on sling, it opens up cable TV.

I'm poor and we haven't been able to afford a lot of things DD wanted throughout her childhood also. She knows I work hard and provide what I can. If she's sad about missing out on something, we acknowledge it, and then move on. Am I sorry I can't take her to Hawaii? Sure. But there's no use dwelling on it.

I think you need Sling Blue plan for Fox Sports, or Blue + Orange which includes Fox Sports + ESPN.

Or just sign up for Fox Sports App on a iPad maybe

We are watching for free on network tv.

Fox Sports App. It's free app, but probably need to pay $10 subscription or whatever fee is

Oh, then an HD antenna they should buy for future. So easy to plug into TV set

Fox Sports App for free? I thought it would only be highlights which is good enough for us…but I just opened the app and it looks like the game is available free. If not, then I’d download the app and watch highlights and commercials so you and DS are in the know tomorrow.
Overall on these things, a lot is how you spin it. If you act like you’re missing out, your kid will think you’re missing out.
