Is this the Pimmit hills of MD?

In addition the zoning is R60.
Read on the restrictions and requirements.

Teardowns are definitely allowed in Twinbrook, there are so many larger houses that have been built. OP drive around a bit and see what folks have done.

Agree that Lincoln Park is probably not what you are looking for because the neighborhood backs up to a lot of warehouses. It is changing quickly since it is affordable, but those warehouses aren't going anywhere.

No sorry OP but that area has been the same forever. It's pretty close to commercial stuff lots of burglaries.

It's not awesome. You really want to be on the other side of 355 if possible. Or near Derwood if looking in this area.

I will say this the schools are good. RM & Julius West are fine.

I have substituted at Beale not a huge fan but it's fine.

House is not renovated great. I'd be weary of it.

OP here,

Thanks for the response, what about the Twinbrook neighborhood? but slightly east of 355?

For instance this house - https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/13010-Atlantic-Ave-Rockville-MD-20851/37105080_zpid/

Twinbrook is a great under valued neighborhood.
1) walkable 2) metro 3) near Pike and Rose 4) Wegmans coming soon at Twinbrook quarter development.
But if you are looking to tear down and build you have to do your homework.
I think you have to use the same footprint of the foundation.
Look at the house for sale on Ardennes Avenue.

"Near" Pike & Rose is subjective. The value of P&R is it's a walkable community with everything you need if you live there (like I do). Driving out to P&R kind of defeats the purpose.

From Twinbrook elementary school to Pike and Rose.
1 metro stop
10 minutes bike ride
1.5 miles away

The house that OP posted is much closer to the Rockville metro station than the Twinbrook station.

The second one is the one in the Twinbrook neighborhood.

I think Marshall High is top 5 in state. Lemon Road E.S. is the AAP center school.

JW and RM are not good schools. They used to be. It’s hard to change opinions though as I’m learning on dcum. Agree with you about being on the other side of 355.

We have a lot of friends whose very bright kids are happy at those schools. Not sure what you think is wrong with them. We’ve loved the school spirit at MS and HS games.

People just want to hate on PH. Don't let facts get in the way.

You can’t have a single family home with a yard and live in Pike & Rose. This is a really good alternative.

SAT scores are declining and not even top 5 in the county.
