What is the current IN sneaker for middle schoolers

Are the Nike dunk hi-tops still in for girls?

OP here and thanks. I think Air Max 270 is something she mentioned recently. But agree I need something that can be returned easily. I'd rather get as a surprise and then she can exchange if she likes something else better. We are in an FCPS public. And for those whose kids don't care, that's awesome. Happy for them, and you. (One of) Mine does.

Stuff bought on nike.com is easily exchangeable. At least I have never had an issue

my 8th grader still loves her AF1s. I don't think they're entirely out. She does want nike dunks now though

Nike.com usually delivers faster than they promise and returns are easy. Really good customer service if you use the chat option.

AF1 are still popular but Blazers are a bit more. I think this will change once the warmer weather hits. Not a lot of girls like to wear high tops in shorts.

Converse are always fine too. Most get black high tops or white low ones. Platforms seem to be more popular.

Honestly, any Nike sneaker is fine. I found some Nike high tops in kid sizes for my daughter and ppl love them. Look a bit like Jordans

My 7th grader still likes converse (she just changes out the color). She also likes Uggs. She has Dunks but doesn’t wear them as much. My 9th grader switches between Jordan’s and Blazers. Whatever was popular in December is still popular now.

We are in an affluent Vienna neighborhood and it’s the same. You see a huge variety of sneakers. My kids always wanted what was comfortable. At the moment, one is wearing ASICS and the other has New Balances. The New Balances are chunky and totally white but were not expensive. She liked how they felt. 2 teens

Not sneakers but slip on Hey Dudes

Just our personal experience but the AF1's did not hold up well at all. Ridiculous for what they cost.

AF1s are all the rage at our private school in DC (6th grade girl). My daughter got her AF1s for her bday in August and has worn them to school almost every day since (sneakers allowed every day since Covid). Love that Blazers actually cost less. Maybe we'll look to those for the next shoe.

People saying Asics... really? Honest question. My 85 year old dad wears Asics, so the few times I've seen them on kids I've thought they look really odd. Do kids really like them?

This is all so fascinating. At our random public school in Loudoun County (meaning nothing special) Air Force 1's have not been popular at all for over a year, maybe 2. They were all the rage the Covid year.

I could ask her but she already knows about the one other significant gift she is getting so I would like this to be a surprise. Are Air Force 1s still cool?

This is pathetic. You're concerned with what's in vs what she would.like. tsk tsk

Be careful though. I’ve had a pair of Jordan’s stolen (said delivered but never was) and the last pair I ordered, the box was open but they didn’t want the baseball cleats I guess.
