| I can afford to do it, too (and having extra funds has nothing to do with who does and doesn't do it). I just don't want people to snicker behind my back... |
I accept that I am aging which is why I don't over-Botox - I just want to smooth things out a little. I am not trying to look 20 again - just fresh for my age. I liken it to having your hair colored or highlighted, or wearing makeup or any of the other things woman do to look good. Different strokes for different folks - just because I do it doesn't mean I think everyone should. I happen to be someone who prefers heels over Birkenstocks, dresses over jeans, etc....... if you are a more au naturale type - you wouldn't do it. |
| Ok, no one has brought up this little fact: IT'S POISON. They are injecting actual TOXIC POISON into your FACE???!!!! Why on Earth would you do that to yourself?? |
Until the $$ runs out. Just kidding. This may sound gross to you... Botox "freezes" the muscles causing the wrinkles. The less you use those muscles, the less you will wrinkle. So even if I only do it for a while, I am still ahead of the game. It's silly, but who cares. |
So...you don't even color you hair? |
hair color (can) be poison make up can contain lead many of the chemicals you eat are quite "poisonous" Ah well... |
| Deodorant is a poison: come on: Just live and let live. I really don't like you granola types.....but I have it everyday w/ my yogurt.....after I make my esthetic improvement appointment. There's a bit of all of it in all of us. |
| op here. okay i read the article posted by the second poster and it really scared me. okay, so not judging you all here that do botox, as one of my best friend's does it and she looks great. i am kind of a wimp and nervous about injecting it. so, is there anything else that is comprable to botox for the forehead or is that it? juvaderm? radiesse? or can't those help the forehead wrinkles? |
PP: Have the boobs done. I am athletic, 50, and it's the best thing I ever did. Recovery was a breeze. GO FOR IT!
I don't like needles and don't want them stuck in my face and not a strong proponent of plastic surgery, but man. My boobs got smaller (and saggy) after breastfeeding. That's something i'd consider. |
| I am not against someone getting a little something done. That said, I HATE botox. I want to talk to someone who is able to have a full facial expression, and it is too much of a distraction otherwise. I think it draws more attention to people, and often makes them look silly. I feel the same way about collagen in the lips too. There becomes a point where the look isn't good, and is distracting. |
You know - I wish you could see me - I have had both Botox and my lips done. You would never know. My husband doesn't even know nor does my mom (who notices every little change). It is just enough to soften the lines and plump up the lips without freezing them! You would be suprised how many people have it done - you are refering to the obvious cases. I know - because I have seen those too. I still have lines and look my age - just a little better. A good plastic surgeon knows how to do it in moderation. Same with breast augmentation - you would be surprised. We all think we know when someone has something done - but those are the ones that get bad boob jobs or too big for their frame. I had mine done after 2 kids - I just look like I have the same boobs - pre-pregnancy. So, think what you want - based on your non-experience. I happen to be very happy with my results. But everyone is different. |
| Even the botox commercial is bad advertising for them. No one in that commercial is able to have a full range of expression. |

4/06 1344 poster - I gotta agree, but it's their body and their money. Doesn't seem like a wise choice especially since everyone is b#*ching about the economy and cutting back on this and that, but to each his own, I guess.
We live in a very narcisstic society - fancy cars, must -have gadgets, big houses, and obviously a younger face. |
Who are your doctors? I am looking for the same look -- soften a few lines and pre-preg boobs ... nothing too obvious. |
To the woman who had her lips done, botox and a breast job---do you have any self esteem? That's not a little work--that's a ton of work. I hate it when I see women that are older that live in some kind of fantasy world and believe since they've had work done they can still assume the mentality of a 20 yr old--you look silly! These are the same women that try to dress like a 20 yr old too. I always make sure I stare a little too long and make them feel uncomfortable. If they only knew how they really looked and how the younger people viewed them.
