Just heard a radio news story yesterday about how Botox might be able to spread to the brain. Here's a newspaper story from today about the same study:

The plastic surgeon quoted doesn't seem concerned, though.

Tina Alster is supposed to be great. I think it's in the $500-750 range per visit but not sure. Haven't made the leap yet ...

I go to Dr. Feledy in Bethesda. He is great. I've had other women compare my botox to other's and one friend in particular said I looked more "natural". He offers Juvaderm also, not sure about radiesse. I believe Juvaderm in a filler. Meaning, that if you have a deep wrinkle, first you "fill" it, than you botox it so that it doesn't get any worse. Call him. The Cosmetic Director, Donna is great.

Age naturally, like god intented you to. You don't want to look like Joan Rivers, do you? I'll never stick a needle in my face for temporary relief from wrinkles. Besides, botox must be done again every 3 months. That's going to start adding up over the years....

I have had Botox twice in the past three years - that's all I really needed. Plus Juvaderm - also twice. For me, and I guess everyone is different, it lasted over a year each time.....before I started to feel like I wanted another boost. I am 43 and people always say I look like I am in my early 30's. I think it is great - in moderation - I think some people overdo it and those are the ones who look freaky. I plan to age gracefully - but I like a little help - to look fresh!

PP, you're 43 and already using botox?! Does your body match your face since you look so "fresh"? There is no way I'm going to use botox and have to put my foot in my mouth when I hear about people like you. Come to terms with your age! Acceptance, honey!

Everyone ages differently. A lot of early 40's use it - more than you may realize. My husband is a plastic surgeon and he treats many types. You would be surprised......

I'm not sure what planet you live on, but early to mid 30s is when most people start these treatments, and they are pretty common in certain income and social brackets ... that is great that you do not feel the need for cosmetic enhancement but many people see nothing wrong with a little help here and there so there is no reason to be so judgmental!

I am 13:54 poster - yes at 43 I do Botox! I look great for my age and (have always looked younger than my age) and just wanted to fill in some deep lines around my mouth that are hereditary. My Mom had them as long as I can remember. I take great care of myself - do yoga and hike, wear very little makeup, eat healthy, no smoking or drinking and I did not have kids until late 30's (probably also kept me young!). I am fit and trim and yes my body is probably younger looking, too. Except my slightly saggy boobs after breastfeeding. Who knows - maybe I will have those done too - I am sure the PP will have a field day with that!

PP: Have the boobs done. I am athletic, 50, and it's the best thing I ever did. Recovery was a breeze. GO FOR IT!

Ok but aren't botox users unwilling to accept the inevitable (aging)? Botox users may help it to keep them looking fresh but are they going to do that until a certain point and then accept that wrinkles are a natural form of the body aging? And at what point do you realize you're no longer a fresh faced 20 yr old? How many years are you going to use botox?
