| I believe IU's business school recruiting is significantly better. You're going to have to work really hard to get an i banking job from Pitt. All the big banks, consultants, etc. recruit at IU. |
| I went to Kelley before it was Kelly (stone age). I would choose the free ride at PITT |
| Go to Pitt for free work for two years and go for MBA. |
| My dc had to make the same choice. Ended up at IU and never regretted it. Opportunities were endless both in the Midwest and on the east coast. |
| Pitt is a much better school, but Indiana has the beter business program. |
|
Kelley for sure unless money is a big issue.
Not worth it if kid has to take out loans |
Thank you all, for your advice. These are super helpful. Appreciate it. And yes, my bad on Kelly vs Kelley.
|
The first half of that sentence is incorrect -- overall Pitt and Indiana rank about the same. A few of the college rankings place Pitt a bit higher, a few place IU a bit higher, but in both cases the gap is pretty minor. |
I'd send my kid to Indiana just to get him away from you Dobbs dorks. |
I think the academic credentials of the average Pitt student is better, but probably not in the business school. I agree, the schools are close enough academically that other things should be the deciding factor. |
DD admitted to both. IU gave us $9000 in merit a year. Not sure which way to roll... |

Kelley is in the top 10 for undergrad business-Pitt nowhere near the top:

On that ranking, Georgetown is lower in rank for business - 12 vs 8 (Kelley). Is Kelley that much better than Georgetown? |
In this situation I'd definitely do Indiana. |
| Indiana, definitely. |
