| DH and I split a can, with a tiny bit of mayo and some relish mixed in. Its plenty for us. Or if I take it for work, I'll make the whole can but take it across two days. |

People are lunatics. 2 cans for 2 small people. And we're both pretty light eaters . There is a little left over, but we bulk it up with mayo, apple and avocado on top. One can is not enough for 2 people.
If you drain the liquid, the cans of tuna all range from 2-3.3 ounces of tuna. So the people saying 1 can is enough for 2 people.... that's 1 to 1.5 ounces per person. Come on, that's ridiculous. Also, to the person saying this is why Americans are fat now because 1 can used to be plenty for two people.... yes, probably. But I suspect the cans back then had twice as much tuna in them. All packaged food like that is smaller and less food than 30 years ago. |
| When we were camping when I was a kid my mom made four sandwiches with one can of tuna and my dad started yelling that he didn't ask for "a tuna-STAINED sandwich." We still laugh about this. |
|
I add mayo and relish and usually make one sandwich for myself, usually on a bagel or roll, with enough left for a half-sandwich on regular bread.
Every time, I think about my friend who has 7 siblings and one of her fondest childhood food memories was going to a friend's house and the mom used the whole can of tuna for two kid sandwiches. |
| We go heavy on the veg because we like the crunch. One large can is enough for several sandwiches. |
|
This is how my mother did it in the 80s. Tuna stained bread for everyone! |
|
1 can for 2 people, but that's usually with something else on the side - like a side salad or cut fruit. We also use relatively small bread slices so it works out, larger bread would need more tuna to balance.
"One serving" does not necessarily mean it's a meal all on its own. Most meals will consist of several "servings" - you can have several servings of the same thing, or one serving each of a few different things. |
lol you’re funny. My dad packed three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and potato chips for lunch every single day in the 80s and 90s. |
| Now I want a tuna sandwich. |
Yes, it’s the one can of tuna fish to blame. Damn that 200 calorie can filled with protein with omega-3s. |
| One can = two modest sandwiches, or one stuffed sandwich with a little left over. |
Coming here to say the same thing. No one is getting fat off of tuna FFS. |
| People really eat catfood? |
| Yep. It's delicious. |
