| Winter Park is great. You’d get a nice SFH with that budget. Prepare yourself for insurance sticker shock. |
| Sarasota or St. Pete are what you’re looking for. West Palm and Delray are great too, but likely out of your budget. |
| Vero Beach |

Key West |
Tell me more about Vero Beach. Have heard from some neighbors that it's great. |
Apparently, you are not paying attention Florida is no longer "cheap" And better not have any females in your family. Naples you need a car to get anywhere there is no "walking" Naples love it hurricane candy. You do understand DeSantis is getting rid of the state withholding no tax right? Seriously do some homework not on DCUM. He has passed at least 8 executive orders a day. Taxes are going up. Not to mention you won't get homeowners insurance anytimes soon. And the cost is well just oh so lovely. |
What are you talking about? Florida still has 0 income tax. |
NP but if the OP says they can work remote, I'm assuming from their current company, which I also assume is not in Florida. Wouldn't they still have to pay taxes in the state they are paid from? |
Please provide link to a reliable source confirming this statement you just made. |
To the many people who like to claim that florida is filled with morons, the PP is a classic example that the rest of the US has its share of morons also. (to the PP: no, you don't pay taxes in your employer's state when you work remotely unless you travel and perform work in that state). |
|
OP: If you like South Florida (Miami, Naples, etc), then you won't like Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra, or Jax Beach.
Vero Beach should be given consideration. |
True this. Naples gets a lot of people from Michigan. Ft Myers gets the retired (at a young age) autoworkers from Michigan. |
| I'm in sarasota. Everyone moving here since covid is from big HCOL places - DC, NYC, Seattle. I'd be surprised if a lot of retired autoworkers are moving to Ft Myers, given that it's insanely expensive now (as are all the decent areas in florida). Maybe 5 years ago, but not anymore. That said, OP's budget will get them a very nice house in a UMC area of these places, just not the "super rich person" neighborhoods. |
Time is ticking away...still waiting for that reliable source from which you got this info from |
| This is a good topic. I look forward to the answers. This is tough to figure out on your own. |
