I have good results with Metamucil fiber thins each morning + coffee. I need to chew them into a paste almost for them to work. The cinnamon ones and the chocolate ones are reasonably good.

My 13yo DD has super issues with maintaining regularity. We put Benefiber every day in her water cup. She's super picky about taste and she can't tell when we put it in and when we don't. I don't know about the generic forms of benefiber. We stick with the name brand. It's worth the extra few dollars. We try and get her to eat at least 3-4 prunes every day as well.

Um no. No one wants their kid taking daily miralax. That isn’t how it should be used

LOL my pediatrician disagrees with you, so I’m going with that.

There is no reason to use Miralax when there are safer choices out there. Please read this article, the FDA has been dragging their feet, but are still trying to work with CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philly) to do a study on Miralax and adverse events.

Because they are sick of seeing you and don’t know what else to tell you

Really, it isn’t for extended daily use unless you want to permanently never poop normally

Get whole psyllium husk. Available at TJ’s, WF etc. It’s the main ingredient in Metamucil and Colón broom. Mix with OJ and drink plenty of water afterwards.

Mira lax is not fiber. It is polyethylene glycol. Take fiber if you need fiber, not chemical laxatives.

I’m going to trust my doctor over DCUM but thanks. I will agree that it’s for treating diagnosed constipation issues and that OP’s kid may not need it, though.

As someone who has used fiber supplements for 15 years I suggest benefiber. I left Metamucil and citrucel in the dust because benefiber is much better disguised.

Imagine believing that doctors know anything about nutrition. Bless you, Sweetie.

The Olly fiber gummies taste pretty good and are a consistent size/ texture with their other gummy vitamins.
