Confront neighbor about bike?

You are out of your mind.

They did not steal your bike!

Say nothing unless you have anything to proof that’s your bike. We had a bike that looked exactly the same as our next door neighbor’s ( we got it first then they somehow got the exact same color and size afterwards).

Perhaps in some crazy conspiracy to make money, the bike company sold more than one of this bike.

It’s very strange that you think your neighbor stole your bike and then is riding it around the neighborhood. What kind of idiot would do that? They just happened to buy the same bike.

NP. I live in an affluent neighborhood and it's an unspoken secret that our area gets cased by criminals on a very regular basis. Cars are regularly broken into at night, and any open garage is considered a free for all, day or night. The stolen property that has been recovered always shows up in another county than ours.

I agree with the others above that it's extremely unlikely your neighbor's kid has your stolen bike and the similarities are a coincidence. Don't make a fool of yourself but feel free to mention that you have had thefts and they should keep their garage closed. You should also keep your garage closed and get a camera. They are literally $30 now so there's no excuse.

Let them know to be careful. Let them know you had a bike stolen from your garage -- gosh, it happened to be that exact same bike ... anyway, be careful because obviously someone is stealing bikes.

This. At this point, there is nothing you can do.

I highly doubt your neighbor broke into your garage, stole your kid's bike, and is now letting them ride it around the neighborhood.

I had a bike stolen from my front yard a year ago. A few months later, I saw my neighbor riding a bike exactly like it, same distinctive color combo, etc. It never occurred to me that my neighbor stole my bike, but I thought for a minute that maybe she’d bought it off the guy who did. Then I realized my neighbor is 5-4 and I am 5-10 and my bike would never have fit her. I was so glad I didn’t say anything.

That’s all to say that, unless you have reason to think your neighbor is shady, it’s much more likely that they bought the bike and the resemblance is a coincidence.

Same happened to me, but another item, fairly unique, and a school mom took it. When it disappeared, it was brand new (and expensive). When I spotted it, it was months later and now the item was beat up. I think there's a chance the mom was losing her mind and didn't realize she took another child's belongings. She had a lot of kids and probably losing her mind. Still, it was aggravating. I was sad, but tried to give her grace.

There will be hundreds of items your kids will own that match what other kids have. Be prepared and don't accuse people. Bike and sports equipment will often be the same across the board in their age group.

Omg if your neighbors are well off, they did not steal a bike from your garage.

OP are you in a 4-cornered room staring at candles

Omg noooooo do not say anything. It is COMPLETELY possible they just have the same bike. Everyone I know has the same brand balance bike as my kid
