My dog ‘adopted’ our neighbor

This is me. I once rented a room for a few weeks from a guy who had a dog, and he was really annoyed when the dog decided he was *my* dog. I’ll be sitting at someone’s house, and the cat that doesn’t like anyone will find his way into my lap. I could always get the horse that was impossible to catch. OP’s description of the neighbor sounds familiar — I think it’s because I love animals, but I’m quiet and not aggressive about approaching them. I let them come to me, and they do.

Some cats don’t like anyone who is eager to interact with them. They fall in love with the people who ignore them. They don’t like the stink of desperation.

My dog wants to move in with teens a few doors down. They walked him once for me and every time we pass their house now he acts like he’s going to move in. It’s adorable.

Love this quiet and non pushy personality in people. You could be a good friend with my dog and even with me ☺️

My dog did this too. Then she kept adding new neighbors and going further away. We put in an invisible fence. She was very depressed for a a few days.

In my old neighborhood, there was a dog who was one of two pets of a young guy. She was a bit of a prima donna and decided she got more attention from an older couple who had no other pets. She basically moved in with them and they officially adopted her.
