Did she invite them in?

You’re thinking of vampires

No; demonic activity can be encouraged or discouraged by believing humans.

Nancy feels guilty, according to her daughter.

I wonder if the exorcism helped?

Lots of people feel guilty for things they’re not responsible for. Hopefully the “exorcism” will help her move on.

She is a devout Catholic.

I get it. I am not religious but I would probably 'sage' my house or something. It is traumatizing.

You don’t know who is legit religious; only God knows that.

I can imagine if a republican had their home exorcised, what people would think and say, though.

That sounds way more likely than an exorcism. It is not at all uncommon for Catholics to have a home blessing ceremony when they move into a new house or, in this case, when something bad has happened there.

No, her daughter specifically said an exorcism. Read the source.

No, it's the same thing just different words. And the non-believers are just overblowing it because they know that "exorcism" has a devil meaning to the ignorant.

Nope. Not in this case. In this case, we all know.

You know who is truly religious and who is not? How?

I don’t think you have personal knowledge of that, btw. I don’t think anyone does besides God.

Anyone claiming that is a charlatan and a liar.

Yes, this is basically the priest re blessing the house. Catholics do that all the time. My grandmother would be appalled I never had my house blessed.

If it worked, it would banish the Republican, so most of us would say it's win-win.

No, blessing the house is different than having a house exorcised.

Procedure for the Minor Exorcism of a Place

A minor exorcism of place, such as exorcizing a home, may be prayed by any priest with faculties to minister within the Archdiocese.

Those seeking the blessing or exorcism of their home or business should contact their local parish priest.

If Nancy wanted her home blessed, that’s different. Catholics can have their homes blessed or exorcised. Her home, according to her daughter, was definitely exorcised.

She will become anti-abortion on her deathbed when she’s cornered.
