Sweet potato recipe that is savory?

I roast cubes with some olive oil and chili powder, pepper and salt. Cayenne too if it's just me. Spicy and a little sweet.

I have some in oven now! I dice, coat in a fat (coconut oil, saved bacon drippings or evoo) sprinkle with salt and a lot of cinnamon. Roast in a cast iron skillet (not a sheet pan) at 450 for about 40 min, stirring at 20 min

I top with a fried egg and some sriracha or salsa.

Sweet potatoes are fantastic for your mood and skin.

I know you said no mashed, but just in case: I do a shepherd's pie with sausage and black beans in the base, mashed sweet potatoes as the top.

NyTimes sweet potatoes with tahini butter. Amazing. I also don’t generally like sweet potatoes.

African sweet potato and peanut soup. I don’t have a good recipe but remember making this a couple years ago and it was good.

I like roasting them with McCormick’s garam Masala blend. It’s basically all the spices the other posters mentioned mixed together. Mmmm.

This is my go-to chili recipe: https://cookieandkate.com/sweet-potato-chili-recipe/

It's great although it has some sweetness due to the sweet potatoes. Not sure where you draw the line.

I also make black bean/sweet potato burritos with cilantro and cheese. That one is more savory due to the salt content in the cheese

OP the BEST sweet potato recipe I can share with you is to cut up those sweet potatoes into chunks, toss them in high quality EVOO and season them with vadouvan curry spice blend. FANTASTIC! You will love it, I promise. (Unless you hate spices and flavor.)

I like them roasted with a good amount of salt to offset the sweetness - roast them till the edges get a bit caramelized. I then add them to any number of things like salads, grain bowls, tacos etc.

Just fyi you should always save the salt for the end of the cooking process - if you salt potatoes or other veggies before roasting, it draws all the moisture out. Salt liberally at the end of the roasting process.

Toss with smoked paprika and black pepper and then serve dressed with chimichurri

So tasty.

Wegmans has a sweet potato gratin recipe in their website/app that is so so much more delicious than I expected it to be. It’s literally sweet potatoes, heavy cream, Gruyère, and salt. It’s phenomenal.

I made a sweet potato chicken curry this week that was easy and turned out very well:

I forgot to put everything in the crock pot, so just cooked in on the stovetop and doubled the broth.
