Ordering food in group when someone has allergies/special needs

Tell them you’re happy to place their food in the garage away from the other food.

We order from multiple restaurants. It’s more expensive but works for us.

This is when I bring my own food or order when I get there and it upsets someone but solves the problem as well.

I think it’s weird. My kids have lots of allergies but we’re happy if there’s at least 1 thing they can eat. Although most of the time we don’t participate in group orders since very few restaurants can accommodate one of my kids allergies.

My BIL keeps strict kosher. When we and his family visit grandparents at the same time, we can never go out for ice cream or similar because it's not kosher and it wouldn't be fair for my kids to get a treat that his kids can't have. It's annoying.

I have a peanut allergic kid, and as long as there’s something for him to eat, I don’t care about the rest. The rest of the family eats peanuts (at our allergist’s insistence). It’s ridiculously high maintenance to insist that *everyone* follow your food restrictions.
