I do both.
I wake up starving so I will have a banana or nuts, workout and then have the rest of my breakfast. |
Workout first, eat later |
I sometimes have 3 scrambled eggs before a morning workout but I don’t have to. |
I fainted during a hard work out with a trainer. Low blood sugar. She said if I wasn't going to eat before hand I needed to have a light snack beforehand.
Many times before then I was dizzy or nauseous. A few apple slices help tremendously |
This. I am very hungry when I wake up, so I eat either a piece of toast with a thin layer of peanut butter or a piece of fruit with a slice of cheese. When I get home I make a larger breakfast. If I don't eat I get shakey. |
I eat before a long run (anything more than 5 miles) and I eat every 4 miles or 45 minutes while running. |
Amazing. I get terrible cramping if I eat. Even running 12+ miles, I dont eat anything bc it hurts. |
It's not better, it's just different. Maybe it is better if you want to lose weight, but not everyone exercising in the morning wants to do that. My health improved dramatically when I started eating breakfast before running (5-7 miles). And my fastest, most enjoyable runs are when that breakfast is mostly comprised of simple sugars. I'm not an Olympian and running isn't my job so I don't routinely have chocolate chip cookies for breakfast because that's not very nutritious, but when I do, my time drops by at least 15 seconds/mile, sometimes more. For some people (i.e., reproductive-aged women at a healthy weight), fasting before hard cardio can delay ovulation. |
Same. |
