Suspended 4 times from high school sophomore year

This is, on its face, a significant disciplinary record, and consequently will likely require explanation. Whether the explanation is accepted as sufficient to overcome the derogatory implications is difficult to predict.

Multiple suspensions are very likely and very reasonably going to be perceived as reflecting an inability to accept responsibility, to learn from mistakes, and an unwillingness to conform to rules/laws one doesn't like.

Similar behavior in an adult would probably be disqualifying for a security clearance, or for any employment where employees are required to not substitute their judgment or preferences for those of their employer.

Actually the common app took that off the application this year because it was discriminatory. Some colleges ask as part of the college specific questions- for my DC who was suspended last year that only included schools in the South (UGA and Tulane) where they had to report the suspension and provide an explanation.

Last year when Governor Youngkin came into office, he issued an executive order that stated parents could opt out of any school mask mandates. There was a 10 year old girl at Waynewood Elementary in FCPS that was suspended at least four times for not wearing a mask. When the VA legislature passed a law allowing parents to opt out of masks, she was at the signing. I think he handed her the pen that he used to sign the legislation.

This makes me sick. I would never let Youngkin around any kid.

Depends on the college.

Youngkin gives me the creeps. Loved Hogan as a governor, but Youngkin seems like a fake.

NO his actions make this comment quite correct.

And he sends his kids masked and vaxed to school in MD and lied to the people who elected him. He's a liar. Now let's get down to it. His crap kid tried to vote illegally not once not twice but three times? You respect a man that supported that when he is supposed to be governor? He's a criminal not a role model and he's disgusting. From the Big Lie to his lies on CRT or what he has done to the gov's mansion. How about that FORD FACTORY he canceled?

I wouldn't let Youngkin babysit a frog.

Not really. For a 4 time suspension in political reasons in the last 3 years, I'm going with he violated the mask mandates. That's not a real political stance---that's going against rules that were in place to keep EVERYONE safe.
If that's the case, then yeah a school like liberty would be thrilled to have him.

Every school that my DD applied to except one (W&M) asked about suspensions/expulsions in the college-specific questions. W&M was her ED school and after she was accepted, they sent an email asking about any disciplinary actions.

She was suspended in 9th grade, wrote a paragraph explaining why that she used to answer the questions and W&M did not rescind her acceptance. Prior to her ED acceptance she got rolling/EA acceptances to a few other schools, so the suspension did not hurt her.

Agree with this post. If I were an AO I'd think he was a selfish jerk. And the reason people like my aunt died of Covid - she was elderly and could not be vaccinated. Liberty is a perfect fit for him.

He was in support of the insurrection at the Capitol.
