VCU acceptance email then oops email?

Anonymous
Last year, VCU accepted 93% of in-state high school applicants and 89% of out-of-state high school applicants. There were roughly 28,000 students enrolled at VCU this semester.

Chances are most of these kids are getting in and it was a timing mistake. The email was probably supposed to go out after the decisions were sent.

I'm so sorry that happened to your daughter. I hope she gets good news when the real decision notification is made.

Accept immediately and withdraw other applications if you’re worried that it’s an oops. Then respond to their oops with an e-mail that you’ve withdrawn other applications in reliance on their offer which you accepted

You would not be able to accept anything — the portal did not reflect an acceptance, so there would be no way to formally accept anything. It was just an email.

This is op, my kid applied early on as rolling decision. So when we got the email, it seemed like the timing was normal.

it happens at different schools every year.

The good thing, OP, is that if your kid has a 3.0 gpa or better, s/he is very likely getting the real acceptance to VCU.

Frustrating, but it's probably going to work out for your kid anyway.

Yea it’s annoying but don’t worry - your kid will get in. They almost all do. And I’m not saying that to troll or denigrate VCU. One of my kids is a grad.
