If there is anyone to blame for the sorry state of the MoCo economy, the buck stops at the MNCPPC.

Reform is necessary and the YIMBYs need to accept that Mark Elrich will be the one in charge when that reform happens. Win am election and they can be the ones in charge.

In the meantime, I'll remain skeptical that the ability to build three rental units next door to me is an improvement to my neighborhood. Seems that their big plan is to make affordable housing by regressing property values to the mean. Triple the people, triple the cars, triple the school children, none of the sense of community that the previous SFH owners had.

Don't worry, you'll be able to sell your property at a higher price to someone who plans to build a triplex on it, and it will be a win-win for everybody.

How does everyone getting rich off real estate create more “attainable” housing? If the land price goes up then the price of a unit in the tri-plex goes up and it defeats everything that people say the Thrive is supposed to do. Hmmmmm.
