Post Covid fatigue

NP - about 4 weeks for me. Then went back to completely normal. That was 7 months ago and I'm wondering how long I have before round 2...

I know this is an old thread but I’m wondering if anyone has post Covid fatigue from the current strains. I am just beginning to feel better on day 6 since testing positive so maybe this isn’t even really “post” as I’m still getting better but I’m just so tired even though my symptoms have largely resolved.

Curious, how did you test for this latest strain?

I'm sorry. I hate to weigh in here, because I don't want to scare you, but I had debilitating fatigue for almost a year and a half. I was seen in the Medstar long covid clinic, and was told they saw it a lot. But I also had a terrible cough that whole time as well, and it was 2021.

Well, I guess I don’t know what strain I had except that I was positive on an at home test.

Thanks for sharing your experience. What a long road. Did you gradually improve after that year and a half? I hope you’re doing better now.

The acute fatigue tends to abate after a few weeks. My experience has been that I’m very, very tired through day 15 or 16, even if testing negative. Then it gets gradually better.

Early research on long Covid suggests that most people with the disorder had mild acute illness. Not resting during the illness stage seems to increase risk for long Covid. So please do your best to listen to your body. I know it’s very difficult, as most of us need to get back to work and want to get back to our routines.

It is really important to take long COVID risk seriously. My spouse had a mild acute illness in June 2022 and has been fully disabled since that time.

Its not just a cold it causes long term inflammation and distruction except at least 4-6 weeks minimum.
