Whitetail Conditions - Whitetrailers

It looks like it rained last night. It’s incredibly frustrating that the snow and weather report on the site hasn’t been updated since 12/28 since most resorts update this daily. The weather is what it is but I wish they would be more transparent/honest about conditions.

You need them to tell you that you can't ski when it's been 50 degrees and raining?

My family loves to ski and my DH has been obsessively monitoring the conditions at local resorts, as well as those a bit further out. It's apparent looking at the cameras and weather predictions that skiing at Liberty/WT are a no go. They can't even really make snow.

It may not help with the Whitetrailers but if you want to ski semi-locally, Timberline looks to have better conditions.
GL.

I definitely would not go up for a ski day expecting great conditions but I already paid for Whitetrailers (which isn’t cheap) so it would be helpful to know if it’s canceled so we can make other plans for Saturday. And if they are having the class it would help to have a better understanding of the conditions to decide whether it’s even safe to go. Leaving up information from December claiming an 18in base is not helpful at all.

I get it Op. We're in the Sunday Whitetrailers. The posters here, although we'll intended, don't know what the Whotetrailers program is.

Thinking they'll send out an email soon with a cancelation...(although they've never been forthcoming with info - erg))

Why do you keep bringing up the safety question? They will monitor the conditions and make a call on cancellation when they are sure. If you don’t trust them to make a good call on safety I don’t know what else you hope to get from the internet.

Last week they canceled citing safety so presumably this week will be the same if their weather was anything like in DC.

Most likely unrelated to snow conditions, but a 7 year old fell from the lift at whitetail. Hope he has a quick recovery!
