Went to derm and used a bunch of products (can’t remember names it has been a few years) if this didn’t work we would then go to antibiotic ie you try less invasive first. Also started bringing face wipes in car for athletic practice pick up to wipe face and back and she would put another shirt on in the car as the back acne was also an issue. I also washed the sheets daily and did sanitary wash on all sports clothes. Please take to derm though as the script for the cream helped a lot. the acne phase is really stressful so please make it a priority to get to the derm. |
Not half nonsense. Until I cut out wheat, I had a permanent deep cystic acne spot on my chin. You wouldn't have seen it, but I could feel it. It was there for many many years. I gave up wheat and within 2 months it was gone. |
Check out the acne.org face wash and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide at https://danielkern.org/ I have been using the entire regimen for a decade and my daughter (now 14) has been using the face wash and benzoyl peroxide since she was 11. She has super sensitive fair skin and so far tolerates these products without redness or irritation.
Second the recommendation for Skin Smart spray (Amazon). Hydrocolloid acne patches help with active pimples. Also try red and blue light therapy (like Solawave). Make sure she keeps her hands off her face at all times. My daughter tends to lean on her hands and then breaks out where there has been contact. As for the PPs who recommended dietary changes, that is the only thing that helped me - I was on multiple prescription medications after developing adult acne during law school, and nothing worked completely until I eliminated gluten and dairy. |
