Scramble to complete applications for ED2 or RD?

DD just had one to complete over break and got it in last week. There was another she'd planned to do but decided not to since she likes one of her acceptances (has 4 so far) more than that one.

Seriously, what's the purpose of the essays?
Force the students to get to know the school and the schools find the right students.
However you don't need to force those smart students with the stupid essays.   
If your school is a mediocre podung school, then maybe.

Success of the process is displayed in the retention rates.
If the school found the right students, then the retention rate would be higher.

Northeastern is #3 with 98%. 
Case Western is also pretty good at 94% on par with schools like Princeton, Boston University and 1% below Emory, Tufts, Boston College, USC.
These schools are outperforming other schools requiring extra dumb essays making kids lives unnecessary more difficult. 
Schools have a shitton of information already. Not sure if this is true, but somebody said Northeastern uses AI.
Yea use AI instead of dumb essays and produce the result like it.
