Ours comes anytime between 3pm-7pm. Usually closer to between 3-4pm though. I’ve talked to our carrier because she’s awesome and always has a treat for my dogs if she sees them out. Sometimes they double up routes if someone is off, sometimes they just have extra to do before they leave. If you want early mail delivery move to England. Our post used to come at breakfast time. |
This. Please. We are happy they show up every day now. Ten or so years ago our neighborhood was very short staffed and we were lucky to get mail 3-4 times per week, never on Saturdays. Every time we asked we were told we didn’t have a regular carrier and others had to pick up a double shift to do our area. This went on for years. |

Ours frequently comes after 7 p.m., and has for years. |
Letter carrier here. First, if you are waiting for mail today-it's the observed holiday so you aren't getting it. I'm drinking cocoa and eating cookies lol.
Really though, what is likely happening is that your route is 'vacant' for some reason and it is 'split up' and delivered by various carriers on overtime. Let's say they do their own route till 430 and then have 2 hrs on another route, they won't get to your house till late. And it can be more than 2 hours overtime, due to staffing shortages. As a carrier, I'd prefer to start earlier in the morning, say at 6 instead of 8, but I don't get to decide that so... |
