The mail used to come around 11am, now it's about ~7pm. What's going on? |
Carriers on vacation = people are doubling up routes. |
Why does it matter? |
My mailman is recovering from surgery. His subs aren't as efificient as he is. He has the benefit of driving this route for 20 years and knowing everyone. I can't expect the same level of service from new carriers; that's just life. |
There is a massive mail carrier shortage in my area. |
People voted for Trump who appointed a lazy grifter to dismantle USPS that is still there. |
Routes change, carriers are doubling routes and the volume is high. |
Dejoy still has a job.
Biden failed... This will just add to the destruction of the US in 2024. |
When our regular mail carrier is out anything can happen. |
The USPS doesn't have a service level commitment to deliver mail to you at a certain time. |
This. Plus high volume with the holidays, and personnel shortages coupled with replacements who are less familiar with the routes, so the deliveries take longer. It’s possible that the extreme weather which has grounded planes and impacted ground transportation across the country is also a contributing factor. |
About 5-10 years ago they shut down a large number of the processing facilities across the country so most Mail will need to travel much further to be processed. It was obvious at the time it would result in large delays and make timely delivery more vulnerable to weather delays (less ability to reroute). Then Trump appointed an idiot who affirmatively wanted to destroy the postal service. The combination of the two is really tough. Our Mail has been coming very late for years now. |
Our mail carrier spends a lot of time parked in his usps truck in various places around the route/neighborhood playing on his phone and smoking cigarettes. |
We’ve only been getting mail delivered a few times a week. I’d take your late delivery any day! |
Trump deliberately trashed USPS. Thank him. |
